Hello friends. This is just a quick note to remind you that SoulFood will be appearing with Flight 2 this Saturday night at Higher Ground Coffee Shop in Hernando. Higher Ground is located beside the Auto Zone just across from the Kroger. It should be a wonderful night of praise to our risen Savior, and a great opportunity for you to bring a friend that needs to hear the Gospel and feel the presence of the Lord. You know the Bible says that when HE is lifted up HE will draw all men to HIMSELF. I really hope you will try to come out.

We apologize for not doing more “Open to the Public” type events lately. As you know, SoulFood is always looking for places we feel the Lord can use us most effectively. Our recent nursing home and troubled youth home visits really seem to fit that bill. We have simply become addicted to watching God’s love moving in these lives of these precious hurting souls. Please continue to pray for us and consider helping us in these endeavors. For more information on how you can become involved, e-mail me back.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think we should have a big celebration for the Lord tomorrow night! Hope to see you there.

God bless,

Guy

Sometimes you just got to get your crazy praise on!!!

Some might say, “SoulFood doesn’t have enough sense to come in out of the rain.” Well, they may be right. When it comes to lifting up the name of JESUS, the praise must go on!

Como, Mississippi Community Outreach- Skies were gray, the rain there to stay, but the boys of SoulFood were determined to play! Huddled beneath a 10x10 canopy complimented by a big ugly tarp, the boys let loose on two rocking sets, only pausing briefly ever so often to dump the water out of the monitors and eat another blackened hot dog. The good folks of ‘HOPE’ ministries and “Good News Brews” were willing to brave the rain, so why shouldn’t we? Who’s scared of a little electrical shock anyway, right?  The Como community might have been shocked, but they felt the love, officially making the outing a great success. I believe the Lord was pleased.

There’s one upcoming date you want to be sure not to miss. May 17th SoulFood will be opening for the hot new group Stereotype at Covenant United Methodist, 8350 Walnut Grove Rd,Cordova, TN 38018 (901) 754-8587. This is will be an outdoor event. SoulFood should take the stage around 4PM. There will be free food, face painting, and moon bounces etc. If you’ve seen Stereotype, you know you don’t want to miss this one!

There are a lot of other shows on the SoulFood calendar- Troubled youth centers to nursing homes, and everything in between. Check the website www.soulfoodministries.org to find out where we’ll be next. Keep us in your prayers!

Let’s all get out there and build God’s Kingdom together. You’re support means more than you think!

God bless,

Guy

Hello friends. Don’t let the world’s negative news reports get you down. Be encouraged! God is still on the throne.

He’s been doing some particularly wonderful things with SoulFood- like our recent visit to Landmark nursing home. We were joined by the anointed kids of the Living Hope Children’s Church. Oh how I wish you all could have been there! (And you could have been. You are always welcome…) The kids brought gift bags of goodies, opened us in prayer, and were cutting a rug dancing while we were playing! Their zeal for Jesus brightened the whole place. There was an awesome time of meet and greet after the show. The kids had hugs for everybody! The patients loved them. We look forward to having the kids back again soon. We play Landmark every second Sunday of the month from 3-4PM- 3068 Nail Rd West, Horn Lake.

Also, the recent P.A.W.S. (Powerfully Anointed Worship Service) held at the Southaven Performing Arts Center was a blast. We were blessed to be on the bill with other hard working warriors for Christ, like the group Firewall, Jeff Hamrick, and our new friends from a fantastic new group Stereotype. Many thanks go out to our own Tommy Briggs, and Firewall’s Chad Allen, for their tireless work spear-heading these wonderful events.

We’d also like to give a particular shout out to our friends at Warrior Ministries. Their unwavering support for SoulFood has always been phenomenal. Congratulations to their Pastor David Vincent and his wife Jessica on the recent arrive of their new son!!!

SoulFood will be ministering again with the dynamic new group ‘Stereotype’ Saturday February 21st at the Southaven Community Church. It is located at 5340 Airways blvd. SoulFood will kick it off beginning at 7:00PM. Everyone is welcome. Please come and worship with us there!

Remember; keep your eyes on Jesus! He is the author of your faith; and guess what… He’ll be the finisher too! Our God is in control!!!!

God bless,

Guy

Greetings!

Hey gang. SoulFood would like to thank each of you for your support throughout 2008, and wish you a Merry Christmas and God’s blessing for a happy New Year! If we keep pulling together there is no limit to what we can accomplish in 2009.

Upcoming

Speaking of the New Year, bring yours in with SoulFood at the Southaven Performing Arts Center this New Year’s Eve. (It’s the old “Spirit of Life” building at 2101 Colonial Hills Drive.) Come on out and help us get a crazy praise on, and express your gratefulness to the Lord! The event will be from 9:00PM to approximately 1:00AM. Also on the bill: Firewall and New Beginnings MB Church. SoulFood begins right after the midnight count down. You don’t want to miss it. We guarantee it will be a night to remember.

We will also be at Higher Ground Coffee House, 2430 Mt. Pleasant Rd (Across from the Kroger), in Hernando MS 7:00PM January 3rd. We would love for you to come. Here’s an idea, bring a lost friend or loved one and don’t warn them we’re a Christian band!

 Recently

It has been a truly rewarding season for us. In our last newsletter we asked for your prayers, and it’s obvious you responded. SoulFood was given the opportunity to play two sessions at a troubled youth center in Arlington called Youth Villages. The Spirit of God was all over it, and moved mightily throughout the services. An estimated 25 to 30 young teens responded to the altar calls and gave their lives to the Lord! It might have been more, we’re just counting the ones that were brave enough to raise their hands in front of their peers and admit it. The directors of Youth Villages dug it too, and promised to not only have us back, but to also work with their other larger campus to have us play there as well. This day had to rank up there with the most fruitful and rewarding days of SoulFood’s 10 year history. God is sooooo GOOD!!! Thank you… thank you… thank you… for your prayers!!! You are part of this!!!

Chick-Fil-A also sponsored SoulFood, Firewall, and Jeff Hamrick recently by allowing us to provide a “Family Worship Breakfast” in the parking lot of their Southaven Goodman road location. SoulFood also made our monthly visits to our friends at both LandMark and Mid-south Health and Rehabilitation Center nursing homes. You want to be encouraged? Come and listen to SoulFood and see how these elderly saints praise the Lord with us! Believe me, they can teach us all a few things. J

Keep those prayers coming, and keep an eye on the website; www.soulfoodministries.org , so you can know exactly where we’ll be next. We’d love to have you there every step of the way as SoulFood works to bring in this end-time harvest of our Lord Jesus Christ. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for 2009!

God bless,

Guy
